The Role

This is an interim leadership opportunity expected to last approximately six months, providing coverage during a maternity leave. The Interim Multi Unit Fitness Manager serves as the acting Fitness Manager across four Orangetheory Fitness studios, leading fitness operations, recruiting and developing coaching talent, and driving exceptional member experiences and business results.

This role offers autonomy to lead and develop high-performing teams while partnering with regional leadership to ensure operational excellence, coach development, and achievement of key performance indicators. This position may be extended or lead to future opportunities based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership continuity and operational support during a temporary management assignment.
  • Hire and train all coaches, keeping them up to date with the latest fitness initiatives.
  • Conduct monthly coach evaluations and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Allocate time and resources across all assigned studios based on operational needs.
  • Review and educate coaches on individual performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Develop coaching staff with the goal of achieving a 60% close rate for prospective members.
  • Execute progressive disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Schedule and facilitate educational workshops and ongoing coach development.
  • Drive member outreach and engagement with the goal of maintaining monthly attrition at 4% or less.
  • Increase member adherence by improving workout frequency and engagement.
  • Train coaches to confidently recommend the Orangetheory Heart Rate Monitor with every new membership, targeting a 70% or higher attachment rate.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

This is a temporary assignment expected to last approximately six months. Candidates interested in interim leadership opportunities are encouraged to apply.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must currently hold an approved fitness certification through ACSM, ACE, ISSA, NCSF, NASM, NSCA, AFAA, or another Orangetheory-approved certification provider.
OR

Possess a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate, or DPT in one of the following:

  • Kinesiology
  • Exercise Science
  • Health Science
  • Movement Science
  • Exercise Physiology
  • General Fitness
  • Athletic Training
  • Pre-Professional Health (Physical Therapy, etc.)
  • Strength and Conditioning or related Fitness Specialization
  • 3–5 years of leadership or management experience, preferably within the fitness industry.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
Physical Demands

Physical requirements may vary and should be reviewed with management. In general, this position requires the ability to lift 5 to 80 pounds unassisted and to regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, stretch, and perform moderate physical activity throughout the workday.

Compensation: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
