Job Summary: The Director of Marketing develops, implements, and maintains all marketing functions towards optimum output and long term successes. The Director of Marketing oversees the Orangetheory Fitness Afterburn Coaching promotion and advertising efforts to advance sales and build brand awareness.  The ideal candidate will have extensive powersports experience working with internal and external stakeholders to drive revenue with a broad range of marketing experiences that range from events to digital initiatives.
 
Responsibilities include developing an overall marketing plan and budget, approving campaigns, and measuring the return on investment of various advertising methods. The Director of Marketing establishes and maintains a positive, inspired community at large brand awareness, develops and executes strategic sales and marketing plans, fosters relationships with professional referral sources, and maintains efficacious relationships with key prospects and stakeholders. This dynamic leader will lead a cross-functional hybrid team including, but not limited to, responsibility for recruiting, developing, and managing the performance of the marketing team members. 
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Guide and support the day-to-day activities of the marketing team.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the marketing strategy and marketing plan.
  • Review current marketing trends, advertisements, and promotion campaigns to determine the effectiveness of different approaches and strategies.
  • Analyze sales numbers in comparison to the marketing budget in order to find the profit margin and which campaigns were most effective.
  • Work with both the sales and marketing departments to develop successful strategies and campaigns that attract new members and retain current members. 
  • Collaborate with other executives to make high-level decisions regarding the budget and the direction of the organization.
  • Oversee and assist marketing team in organizing and facilitating company events.
  • Create and maintain a successful brand and image that attracts members to the product and/or service.
  • Develop marketing strategies for new products, campaigns and/or services that comply with current company standards.
  • Assist marketing team in building optimal brand awareness and positioning.
  • Oversee social media marketing strategy and content marketing.
  • Provides  effective performance management support for marketing team to include, but not limited to – ongoing coaching, performance reviews, developmental guidance/support and progressive disciplinary action, as appropriate.
  • Develop and manage an annual budget for the marketing department.
  • Attend conferences to further marketing knowledge.
  • Research competitors to stay current with similar products or services on the market.
  • Negotiate with media agencies and secure agreements on the production of promotional materials.
  • Performs role of hiring manager for all marketing team members with the support of Human Resources to include, but not limited to – conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations for all marketing staffing. 
  • Other duties and projects, as determined by business needs and directed by the VP of Administration and CEO. 
 Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has supervisory responsibilities over a business unit and multiple team members, 7-10, including remote staff fulfilling local market roles. 
 
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing , or related field; Masters degree preferred
  • Three years plus of progressively more challenging experience in a senior Marketing role 
  • Demonstrated success in strategic marketing and long-range planning and execution
  • Three plus years of digital, social, and/or regional marketing experience
  • Experience managing a team of at least five direct reports with proven managerial and critical thinking skills required
  • Ability to understand and analyze Budget Statements, P&L Statements, and competitive information to develop plans with measurable results
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
  • Must possess exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage employees working in a high-pressure environment towards successful results for the Company
  • Advanced knowledge in the following areas:
    • Lead generation
    • Channels including but not limited to social media, display, and traditional
    • Integration of marketing communications and the digital media landscape
    • Budget management
    • Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Work Schedule:
General hours; Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This position may be required to work long hours and/or weekends on occasion depending on business needs.

Compensation: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
