You’re a coach at heart. You know how to motivate people, but you also know how to listen. You hold people accountable while making them feel supported. You notice the details, lead by example, and genuinely care about the people around you.
That’s what we’re looking for in our next Head Coach at Orangetheory Fitness Tenleytown.
As Head Coach, you’ll do more than lead great workouts. You’ll help lead and develop our coaching team, create an incredible member experience, and build a studio culture where coaches and members want to show up every day.
You’ll be a leader both inside and outside the studio — someone our coaches can turn to, and someone our members trust with their fitness journey.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and motivate members through Orangetheory’s coach-led workouts
- Create an energetic, welcoming, and inclusive class environment
- Coach proper form and technique while providing meaningful corrections and encouragement
- Understand the science behind Orangetheory’s heart-rate-based training and strength programming
- Know the equipment and programming inside and out
- Mentor, develop, and support the coaching team
- Help onboard and train new coaches
- Provide regular feedback and coaching to help the team grow
- Partner with the Studio Manager and leadership team on studio goals and initiatives
- Help create a strong, positive coaching culture at Tenleytown
- Build relationships with members and make sure they feel seen, supported, and challenged
- Be an active part of the Tenleytown community and Orangetheory culture
- Be a team player who is willing to jump in wherever needed
What we’re looking for:
- A natural leader who enjoys developing other coaches
- Someone who brings energy and personality to every class
- A strong communicator who can motivate different types of people
- Someone who takes coaching seriously but doesn't take themselves too seriously
- A passion for fitness and helping people become stronger, healthier versions of themselves
- A current fitness certification from an Orangetheory-approved education company
- Current AED/CPR certification
Compensation:
Up to $85+ per hour, including coaching pay and available performance-based opportunities.

Orangetheory is a science-based, full-body workout that uses technology to measure performance so members can prove they are improving. In a 60-minute class, led by a highly trained and certified coach, members target at least twelve minutes in the Orange Zone to raise their heart rate and charge up metabolism. The result is an increase in calorie burn post-workout, backed by the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC). After twelve minutes of hard work in the Orange Zone, your body burns additional calories as you recover over the next 24 hours.
